Can we combine series — for example, run the leadership and board series together?

Yes. Many organizations find it useful to run the leadership and board series in close sequence so that both groups are working from the same frameworks. Running the staff series alongside or shortly after gives the whole organization a shared language for AI. Each series is priced individually — there is no bundle discount for combining them, but the pricing is already structured per delivery, so the cost of bringing multiple series to your organization is straightforward.

What are TERN guardrails?

Before a donation reaches your accounting system, TERN checks: Is this the correct transaction type (sales receipt vs. journal entry — the most common and costly mix-up, often introduced by pre-built donor-system integrations that bypass the sales sub-ledger)? Does the fund coding match the restriction on this gift? Are there required approvals before this posts? Is this expenditure a capital acquisition, or an operating expense? This is different from traditional automation, which moves data from one system to another. TERN moves data only after verifying it meets your accounting standards, CRA or IRS requirements, and any organisational policies you have configured. Think of it as the control layer between your operations and your ledger — the function the sector has always needed and never been able to afford.

QuickBooks Online is our first and deepest accounting integration — if you're on QBO, you'll have the most complete experience. However, TERN is designed to work across accounting platforms. Sage, Oracle NetSuite, and Microsoft Dynamics are on the roadmap. If you're using a different accounting system, reach out — understanding what platforms our community uses directly informs our integration priority order.
