About PF TECH

A Canadian company that began as a non-profit, and still works like one.

Where PF TECH comes from

PF TECH began as a non-profit. In February 2021, Greg Zatulovsky — a CPA who had spent his career inside non-profit finance and operations — founded Purpose Forward, a Canadian consultancy built on a different mandate: its success aligned directly with its clients’. For four years it did hands-on operational work for small organisations, the fifteen-to-twenty-five-staff kind where one stretched team carries everything.

The work kept hitting the same wall, and the wall was structural. The tools these organisations needed did not exist, and a non-profit isn’t built to create them. Then the cost of building collapsed. In 2025, Purpose Forward wound down, and PF TECH — Purpose Forward Technical Solutions Inc., a private Canadian company — took up the same mandate with a structure that could finally act on it.

Where we have done the work

Across staff roles, Purpose Forward, and PF TECH, our team has supported the operational and technical work of these organisations.

Wondering what that support looks like for your organisation?

Privacy by design

These aren’t policies on a shelf — they’re built into how everything we make works, on every PF TECH product and engagement.

  • Your data stays yours.

You choose where it lives — the default is Canada, grounded in PIPEDA and PHIPA — and full extraction and migration rights are non-negotiable. No lock-in, ever.

  • No training on your data.

AI runs through enterprise endpoints under non-retention and non-training agreements. No user or organisation data is ever used to train public AI models.

  • De-identification first.

Sensitive data is de-identified before it reaches any AI model. Vendor agreements supplement that safeguard; they never replace it.

  • The minimum data footprint.

Our tools hold only the minimum they need to do their job — the sensitive detail stays in the systems you already trust to keep it.

  • Open source where feasible.

Sovereignty is only meaningful if the tools support it; proprietary ecosystems that hold data hostage are avoided by design.

Small on purpose

PF TECH runs as a studio: one senior team, a set of purpose-built tools, and AI doing the work that used to need a department. For you, that means the person who answers your email is the person doing the work — and a partner that can build a website in a week and a reconciliation tool in a season.

The founder

On my first day in the sector, in 2013, I watched a colleague in accounts payable print every email — entire threads — and refile them in a cabinet that mirrored his inbox: a back office running on workarounds because the funding had never covered systems. I have spent the fifteen years since on that one problem, as a finance director, a consultant, and now the founder here. I have sat in your chair, made a lot of these mistakes already, and I measure success by how little you end up needing me.
